FULL ITINERARY

Day 1:  Hanoi Arrival

Welcome to Hanoi! You will be picked up at the Noi Bai International Airport with our private air-conditioned vehicle to transfer to the hotel for check-in.

Hanoi is Vietnam’s capital with a thousand-year-old history dating back to 1010. The city’s fascinating beauty which is characterized by unique cultural relics, ancient streets of antique houses, elegant French colonial buildings, tree-lined boulevards and romantic lakes has made it one of the most charming cities of Asia.

Day 2: Hanoi – Ninh Binh Day Tour (B/L)

07h30 – 8h00: Get picked up by our friendly guide then depart for Ninh Binh province

09h15: Have a short break for 15 – 20 minutes to relax

10h30: Visit Hoa Lư ancient capital of Vietnam between 968 and 1010. You have a chance to learn about Vietnamese history in the feudal system under Dinh, Le, and Ly Dynasty

11h45: Have a buffet lunch in the restaurant with a lot of local foods such as goat meat, fish, chicken, fried rice…. Vegetarian foods are always available in the buffet lunch

13h00: Visit Trang An which was recognized by UNESCO as A World Heritage Site in 2014. Trang An has a wonderful tunnel cave system so Kong’s Movie Group chose this place for the New Version of Kong in 2016 – “Skull Island”. With 2 hours for the boat trip, you will be persuaded by the beauty here.

15h00: Continue the tour for 45 mins – cycling around the village to discover the life of the local people. 15h45: Get back to Limousine Bus then leave for Mua Cave (Dancing Cave). Walk up almost 500 steps, you can reach the top of Lying Dragon Mountain & have an amazing panoramic view of Tam Coc from here 17h00: Get on the bus to return to Hanoi

Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Overnight on Romantic Cruise (B/L/D)

08:15 – 08:45: Hotel or private address pick up at your hotel in Hanoi.

11:45 – 12:00: Arriving Tuan Chau marina

12:45 – 13:00: Welcome aboard the cruise. Refresh with our welcome drink. Meet the captain, crew in the cruise briefing, safety instruction.

13:00 – 13:15: A special lunch in Vietnamese cuisine

14:45 -15:00: Visit Titop island where you take your time on swim, sunbath, trekking….
16:30: Arrive in Pearl Farm Village. Visit around and swim, kayaking in the bay.
17:30: Back to the cruise and join cooking class to have experience in some traditional dishes. Tea time on sundeck.

19: 00: Dinner and overnight on cruise

Day 4: Halong – Transfer Back To Hanoi – Take a Flight to Dong Hoi(B/L)

6:00 : Practice Tai Chi on the Sundeck.
7:00-7h30: Start your day with a light breakfast. During breakfast, cruising to explore other part of Halong Bay, admire the beauty of one in seven new wonder in the world.
8:30 – 9h30: Arrive in Surprise cave, explore the Cave, one of the most beautiful caves in Ha Long bay.
9:45: Check out and take all luggage outside of your cabin, cruise back to the Tourist Wharf through Ha Long bay.

10:00: Have brunch and clear bills.
11:30: Back to the Tourist Wharf.
12:00: Departure to Ha Noi

15:00: Take a flight to Dong Hoi. Upon arrival at Dong Hoi airport, you will be picked and taken to your hotel in Dong Hoi.

Day 5: Discover Phong Nha & Paradise Caves (B/L)

08h00: Pick up from your hotels in Dong Hoi City, the one hour driving on Ho Chi Minh Trail East heading to Phong Nha.

08h45 – 09h00: Our bus and tour guide will pick up at your hotel in Phong Nha, you will explore the most impressive Phong Nha caves. After 25 minutes on boat, visitors will arrive Phong Nha cave, take a couple hours to see the cave. This cave is called as water cave, is famous for its rock formation which has been given names such as the “Lion”, the “Fairy Caves”, the “Royal Court”, and the “Buddha”.

12h30: Lunch at local restaurant before exploring National Park in the afternoon.

13h30 – 16h00: Visit Paradise cave – the Cave was labeled the World’s most beautiful and magnificent. It has the length of 31.4 kms and is the longest dry cave in Asia. With naturally primitive features, Paradise Cave looks like a landscape painting, making it very attractive to visitors.

16h30: Back to Phong Nha town.

 

Day 6: Dong Hoi Day Train To Hue (B)

Your driver will collect you from the hotel and transfer you to Dong Hoi Train station to catch the day train (soft seats with air conditioning) to Hue (the forth Unesco World Heritage site on your list)

Upon arrival in Hue, transfer to the hotel check in and relax after the length train. Overnight at the hotel in Hue.

 

Day 7: Hue Full Day City Tour (B/L)

Morning, meet our guide at your hotel and take a full day tour of Hue City, the former Imperial Capital of Vietnam for the 1802-1945 period and the last refuge of Vietnamese feudalism. The city’s beauty is characterized by a natural scenic landscape and an extensive variety of historical relics.

Begin with Hue Citadel, a well-known UNESCO-recognized World Heritage Site which is a 520 ha fortress-like grand complex built in the early 1800s and featuring three enclosures separated by heavy ramparts namely Kinh Thanh Hue (Civic City) as the outer, Hoang Thanh (Royal City) as the middle and Tu Cam Thanh (Forbidden City) as the inner. Continue to Khai Dinh Tomb, the burial site of Vietnam’s second-to-last king, and the most elaborate compared to other kings’ tombs.

The tomb shows a vivid European influence in architecture despite its Asian style.

Afternoon, stop for shopping at Dong Ba market – the city’s traditional commercial center

Day 8: Hue – Hoi An – Marble Mountain, Cham Museum  (B)

Morning
After breakfast, depart Hue, you will drive south to Da Nang and Hoi An for four hours along the coast. Today you will enjoy one of the most scenic drives over Hai Van Pass (Sea Cloudy Pass). From the summit, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the coastline and Da Nang city below.

Arrive in Da Nang you will pause to visit the Marble Mountain, Cham Museum and the white sandy 20-mile stretch of My Khe Beach which was home to American GIs during the war.

Continue to drive and arrive in Hoi An around midday. Check into your boutique resort, just a stone’s throw from the old town.

Afternoon
Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure. Enjoy the facilities of the resort or stroll around the Old town where you will find authentic Vietnamese culture, with paper lanterns lining the streets and delectable riverside restaurants.

Day 9: Hoi An Local Village & Walking Tour (B/L)

Morning: The guide will collect you at the hotel to visit Kum Quat Village

Do gardening as a farmer (how to prepare the land, fertilizing ground, sowing, watering etc..)

Dip foot local herbal and foot massage

Most of the classes we run at the Kumquat BBQ Restaurant & Cooking Class are hands-on, allowing you full involvement in the cooking process.  The lessons run for 3 hours.  We try to create a very social, friendly environment in our classes and everyone cooks as part of a team.

Class begins with an introduction from the chefs, who will then demonstrate and explain the recipes. Working in groups of 3, 4 or 5, you and your classmates the class will then cook/prepare 3 or 4 dishes (daily cooking menu from attached file). During this time the chefs are continually on hand to answer questions and assist you.

At the end of the class everyone sits down to enjoy what they have made. Recipes from the class will be made available to you so you can recreate them at home.

Afternoon
Your tour guide will  take you to the Ancient Quarter of Hoi An (the sixth Unesco World Heritage site on your list) where you will embark on a walking tour visiting the major attractions such as Chua Ong PagodaTan Ky Ancient HouseFujian Assembly Hall, and the Japanese Covered Bridge.

Continue to visit the Precious Heritage Museum, home to the permanent exhibition of Réhahn’s Precious Heritage Collection. While transporting you to the furthest reaches of Vietnam, the collection will unveil the rich cultural tapestry of the ethnic tribes.

Then free time for shopping here and back to hotel for overnight.

 

Day 10: Hoi An – My Son Holly Land – Flight To Ho Chi Minh (B)

Morning
Depart early in the morning (to avoid the crowds) for the exploration of My Son Sanctuary (the seventh Unesco World Heritage site on your list) – lies in a geological basin surrounded by a ring of mountains, about an hour inland from Hoi An. The indigenous Cham tribes chose this easily defendable location to build the capital of their empire, which grew steadily between the 4th and 13th centuries. Used as a military base by the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War, My Son was heavily bombed, but many ruins remain standing.

Upon arrival, you will enjoy a walking tour for two hours around this historic complex. Learn about the original building techniques applied during construction and the traditional materials that were used, such as timber, brick, and stone. You will also look out for the numerous craters that were left here by American bombs from the war in the 1960s and 70s.

Head back to town. Stop en route to visit a rice paper workshop to test your culinary skills and learn how to make a delicious local snack. You will then sit back and enjoy your creations with a cup of Vietnamese coffee and engage in a friendly chat with our hosts about the rural way of life here.

Afternoon

Take a flight to Ho Chi Minh. Overnight at the hotel

Day 11: Cu Chi Tunnels (B)

Your private guide and driver will meet you at the hotel and take you to Cu Chi, a small community located northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, known for its network of deep tunnels that provided shelter and an effective source of infiltration for the Viet Cong during the later years of the Vietnam War.

Upon arrival, you will watch the original film footage from the period, followed by a walk through the reserve. The hidden network of Viet Cong tunnels is believed to stretch to “hundreds of miles,” in total length, housed living quarters, storage rooms, makeshift hospitals, and kitchens…etc. Although originally very narrow, a section of the tunnels has been widened so you will have the opportunity to explore parts of the system to get a feel for what the underground life must have been like.

Try some of the main food of the Viet Cong Soldiers with a cassava tasting served with tangy tea. After that transfer your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

Afternoon
After experiencing the Tunnels you will be driven to your hotel in the city centre for check-in. Rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Day 12: Mekong Delta Tour    (B/L)

Morning
After breakfast, your private guide and driver will take you out of HCM City onto some beautiful country roads to Ben Tre Town in the Mekong Delta, famous for its vast rice fields, numerous waterways, and beautiful landscapes. Known as the ‘rice bowl’ of Vietnam, this region produces most of Vietnam’s fruit, rice, sugar cane, and coconuts.

After the two-hour drive through the lush farming land, you will arrive in Ben Tre where you will set out on a motorized boat trip on narrow channels winding through the coconut forest. During the boat ride, you will stop at the local cottage industries to see how the local people make bricks and weave sleeping mats by hand. Learn about their craft handed down through generations.

Take a leisure walk along the village lanes, visiting the local homes to try fresh fruits, taste delicious honey tea while enjoying a local Tai Tu music show. Continue to visit another workshop where the local delicacy of coconut candy is produced and a wide range of coconut husk and fiber products are skillfully handcrafted.

Next, take a small sampan through palm-fringed back canals, gliding peacefully along the hidden waterways surrounded by an immense variety of tropical plants. The quiet, rural setting is a welcome and restorative retreat to the frenetic buzz of HCM City which seems far, far away.

Enjoy sitting in the back a Motor Cart (xe lôi) passing local hamlets, rice fields, coconut groves, and lush orchard farms while meeting with local people.

Afternoon
After finishing your sightseeing tour your guide will take you to a riverside restaurant for lunch with local specialties then return to the pier and relaxing before the boat bring you back to Ben Tre city and back to Saigon.

 

Day 13: Full Days City Tour (B/L)

Meet our guide at your hotel and take a full city tour. Start with a visit to the War Remnants Museum, which features an extensive collection of exhibits including weaponry, photos and documentation on Vietnam’s wars with the French and Americans. Continue to the Reunification Palace, which was formerly the South Vietnam President’s residence and symbol of the Southern Administration’s reign until end of April 1975.

Next, call in Saigon Post Office, a fine colonial building which was designed and built in the early 20th Century by the famous French architect Gustave Eiffel.

Stop at Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, a neo-Roman cathedral built over 130 years ago by the colonial French with materials entirely imported from Marseilles. Move on to Cho Lon or the city’s China Town where you will visit the Jade Emperor Temple (Phuoc Hai), a rare Taoist structure in Vietnam built in 1909 in dedication to the Lord of Heaven.

Day 14: Ho Chi Minh Departure (B)

Your private transfer greets you at the hotel after breakfast and escorts you to Ho Chi Minh International Airport where you board your flight home.
